Although this site has got many applications under its sleeve many people would be happy to make their applications portable. So, i decided to include a tutorial on this.
You can make applications
portable in many ways using different softwares but i would love to cover
2 easy and most common methods .
Method 1 :-
You require
Universal Extractor and WinRar. to accomplish this task .After downloading them select the software which u wanna make portable.I have chosen Nero to make portable, Now locate the Setup.exe ,select "UniExtract to subdir" by right clicking on Setup.exe
A command prompt will open and it will automatically extract to a folder, on your desktop or wherever you save it.After extracting goto the extracted folder now select all da files by clicking and dragging right mouse button.select "Add to archive".Change the archive name to whatever you want, such as: Audacity Portable. Click on create SFX archive. Choose "best" under the category "Compression Method".
Go to the advanced tab. Click on SFX options. When the options window comes up, type the name of the executable (neroportable.exe) in "Run After Extraction" in the SetUp Program category. In the Modes tab, click on unpack to temporary folder and hide all. In the Update tab, click on "Overwrite All Files"..Click ok to exit.MIssion accomplished now u can carry this anywhere.
Method 2 ill show this method as a separate post.
