How to send secret messages

Steganography is the art of sending secret messages in such way that apart from reciever and sender no other person can see the message.According to greek origin the word steganography means concealed writing  .Steganography is different from Cryptography in which the message is made unreadable by others except the reciever.But the existence of a message is known in Cryptography.
In olden days Steganography was most prevalent when a secret message has to be sent from one king to the other.They used wood carved with message ,concealed it in wax to send the message.Usually no suspicion arises when seen by a third person.Believe it or not Human urine was also used to send secret messages.

  In the modern era Digital Steganography is carried out by embedding messages inside pictures,audio files,video files.Today am going to show you how to embed a secret message in a picture and send it secretly to your friend.Before showing it let me tell how does it work in one line ,It makes use of unused or waste bits present in a image or a file.To demonstrate this trick am gonna use a software called s-tools .You can download it by googling.
Step1  launch S-tools

Step2 Drag and drop the image file inside which you wish to hide the secret data ,did i forgot to tell that it supports bitmaps,wavefiles .If you have a jpeg file just convert into .bmp file and drag it.

Step3 Now drag the text file or another image(the file u wish to hide) onto the image in s-tools window .As soon as you do it the software asks you to enter a password and choose an encryption algorithm .This password is required on the reciever side to open the secret file.

Step4 After entering the passoword and algorithm u can see the image containing hidden data

Step5 Right click on the second image called hidden image and save it with whatever name u wish.Send this file to your friend.
Steps at the  reciever side
Step 1 open the hidden image in s-tools windows by dragging it.
Step 2 Right click on the image and select reveal.

Step 3 After clicking on reveal  it asks for passphrase,after entering password, u can see the hidden txt file .Now save the text file on ur desktop or place of ur choice.

Step 4   Finally view ur text file by opening it .
