If you recently shifted from windows Xp to Windows7 or Windows vista you will notice that there is a drop in your browing speeds this is due to the autotuning feature introduced in windows 7 and winvista.Actually this feature was introduced to enable browsing at high speeds unfortunately this feature is not compatible with many networking  devices.If you disable this feature you will experience highspeed browsing.Now join with me to know how to do this
Type cmd in the search programs and files box dont press enter instead run it with administrator privileges

Now type the command netsh interface tcp show global
Now check the line recieve window auto tuning level if it doesnt say disabled or restricted issue the following commands
netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=restricted or netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled .

Did u know that we can make systems with multicore to boot faster than normal systems.If u have never heard of it learn how to do it here.We know that all the  booting information of a system is present in boot.ini file we can tweak this file by typing Msconfig in the run dialog box and select boot tab option in windows Vista and 7.For Windows xp select the tab boot.ini and then select advanced options.

In windows 7 and vista select check the box Number of processors and select 2 from the dropdown list.

For windows xp users check the box /NUMPROC then select 2 from the list.

How to dualboot windows xp and windows 7

Now many laptops are being shipped with windows 7 os.Some of the users may still want to  use the  trusted windowsxp.So iam gonna teachu how to install xp on a system preinstalled with windows7.To install windows xp to  dual boot with windows7 we require either an empty partition or you can create an new partition yourself by shrinking free space present in  a drive.If you have a windows7 preinstalled system with many drives then you can select any drive to install xp.Some of the  laptops are shipped only with only one partition,to install winxp on such systems you have to shrink some amount of available free disk space into new partition .Let me tell you how to do that
Open your start menu now type partition in search programs and files box.Now click on Create and format harddisk partition

The disk management window opens now  now click on your c drive and select shrink partition

Now a window fires out querying how much of free disk space is available.You will be shown the total size of the disk,amount of free space available to shrink

Now give the amount of space required for ur new drive and click on shrink button.
After shrinking you will be displayed with raw partition   now right click on it and select New simple volume.

 
New simple volume wizard starts up  confirming again for simple volume in mb,then it assign a drive letter .Now under Format partition section NTFS is selected by default leave it,also give the volume label name ,check the quick format box.

Click on next after the format is completed you will see the new healthy volume with ur volume label.
thats it a new partition is created .Now boot your system with windowxp bootable cd .Select the newly created volume for installing xp after installing you can see that your system starts with windows xp this is bcoz the xp bootloader overwritten windows 7 bootloader.Dont panic now use the software called EasyBcd 1.72 and click on Writembr and see the magic .Restart your computer now you can see both operating systems

Comodo time machine :replacement to windows system restore and settings

In simple terms Comodo time machine is windows time machine.After installing any software if you have any compatability problems associated with it.Then this software comes handy.After installing  the software it reboots ur system and takes snapshot of the entire system.

Windows 7 Aero

Microsoft shipped windows 7 with touch screen supporting features.Windows Aero is one of them, though it was present in Win vista Microsoft got it revamped with many interesting features in windows 7. Lets take a sneak peek into those features.
Aero peek: If you wonder what is this just over your mouse on any taskbar icon it shows a thumbnail preview of the running program .See the picture below.

1)Aero shake: I have already mentioned about this feature in my previous posts check here Aero shake .
2)Aero Snap:When you drag any active window  to the left or right side of your desktop it gets snapped occupying half of the screen on the coressponding side you dragged it

 You can also windows shortcuts to do this .Hold windows key and press left arrow key to snap the current window into left half .Hold windows key and press Right arrow key to snap the current window into right half .
3)Flip 3d  effect click this link Flip3d .This effect is an enhancement to alt+tab function.You can have this effect by holding ctrl+windows key and pressing tab or scrolling your mouse wheel.
4)Maximised windows still retain thier transparency  .
5)It is now possible to turn off windows shadows.
All the above features work only if you are using windows Aero themes.
Do disable Windows Aero right click on the desktop and choose personalize option,scroll down until you see normal themes select them thats it Aero feature will be disabled.

Disable Error reporting in windows 7

Error reporting is a service offered by Microsoft to solve user problems and design their software better to perform well by developing service packs and patches.They gather information from the users all around the globe and take necessary actions to serve us better.By default this service is enabled.However this service may look annoying to some users.Now am going to tell two wayshow to disable this feature in windows 7.
Method 1
Launch start menu type Problem reporting settings 

Now select Choose how to report problems 

 Now click on never check for solutions

But my advice is to leave it enabled to help microsoft serve us better.
Method 2
Now am going to use Gpedit (Group policy editor) but this is not available in windows home .
You can type gpedit.msc either in Run dialog box or in Start menu search.

In the Local Group Editor Window dive into User configuration\Administrative Templates\Window Components\Windows Error Reporting 

 Change the setting from not configured to enabled.

God mode in windows 7

God mode is creating folder from which you can control all the options present in your Win7 system.God mode is also referred as Master control panel.The trick to create Masterontrolpanel is very simple.Create a folder on your desktop and rename it with Master Control Panel.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} 
Now see the magic double click on the Master Control Panel icon. now let me tell how does this work .Windows uses GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) for every single object and when you created with GUID then windows checks in the registry for corresponding GUID in HKCR\CLSID and launches the coressponding application.See for yourself

Open folder as a seperate process in windows 7

 By default all the folders that are opened is considered as a single process in windows 7.This is highy useful to save precious System resources.But this also has got a bottleneck if any folder fails to respond or crashes inturn it leads to the failure of shell.So it a better choice to run some folders as a seperate process.

Open windows explorer navigate to the folder which u want to open as a seperate process.Select the folder .Now holding the shift key rightclick on the folder .Now you can see Open in new process option .Select it mission accomplished

How to disable Aero shake in windows 7

Aero nice shake is a cool feature incorporated in Windows 7.This feature is extremely useful when multiple windows are open and you want to select one of them and make others minimized.In windows 7 You can do this by  clicking on the required window title bar just shake it, come on shake it baby.Now you can watch other windows get minimized leaving your window.You can disable this cool feature using small registry tweak

How to Fix windows 7 search

windows 7 has come up with a powerful search function.By far it is the best when compared to the other windows platforms.But sometimes it fails to deilver the results bcoz sometimes the Start menu search displays only the category headings .You can get around this by downloading and installing the hotfix by clicking here Windows 7 search .

Get back your flip 3d shortcut in windows 7

Flip 3d is the main reason that i have shifted from windows xp to windows Vista i was very much impressed by this 3d effect.Even my friends came to my house to see this effect.For guys who never heard about this Flip3d.It is a enhancement made to Alt+tab  to switch between different windows lying on the taskbar  .

When i installed windows 7 to my surprise i found out that this cool shortcut was missing .I thought for some days why microsoft people removed such a cool feature from its new shipment.Later a friend of mine told the shortcut was still present and he showed me how to get it back in windows 7.
Follow these steps to get it back on your pc

Step 1. Right-click on Desktop, select New and then Shortcut.
Step 2. In the New Shortcut Wizard, type the below path as location:
RunDll32 DwmApi #105
Step 3. Click next, assign name as Flip-3D.
Step 4. Lastly, click on Finish button.
Step 5. Once you click Finish, a new icon will appear on the Desktop.
Step 6. You can stop here if you don’t like to change the look of the icon.
Step 7. To get the default Flip-3D icon, right-click on the new Flip-3D icon and select Properties.
Step 8. Under the Shortcut tab, open Change Icon.
Step 9. In the location box, type C:\windows\explorer.exe and click OK to get new icons.Now select the icon pointed by arrow.

Step 10:Now right click on the icon and select pin to taskbar to access it from taskbar like u do in vista.
Flip 3d effect can be also invoked using by holding Ctrl+Win keys and pressing tab button.

windows 7 frequent access folder shortcut

Do you know that you guys can create a virtual drive for ur frequently accessed folder.This tip is extemely useful when u want to access your favourite folder which is deep rooted in the system such as d:\myfav\wallpapers\gizmo\gadgets\computer .To do this click on Start type CMD in the search box and press Enter. Let us assume that you have a folder called dinu  your d: drive.Now u wanna create a virtual partition so that u can access it whenever you want.Type  SUBST X: "D:\DINU" Here x is the unused drive letter in your computer.Now open explorer voila u hav created a new partition to access ur favourite folder.Now whenever you click on that you will be taken directly into d:\dinu.you can drag and drop your files here.The same trick works for windows vista as well.After sometime you may think of removing it.To do that follow my footsteps.type SUBST X: /D   in command prompt and press enter.Thats it enjoy enjoy friends.
